01
The brief we set ourselves
Most hotel websites bury the two things a guest wants: what the rooms actually look like, and how much a specific date costs. Photography is squeezed into carousels and the booking widget fights the design.
The brief we set ourselves: design a hospitality site where the imagery does the selling and booking is never more than one tap away.
02
Approach
We mapped the guest journey — inspiration, rooms, rates, location, then book — and gave each stage one page with one job.
The booking bar became a persistent element rather than a hero widget, so date and rate selection follows the guest through the whole site.
03
Design
Full-bleed room photography on warm plaster tones, with type set large enough to carry the brand voice without competing with the imagery.
Room pages open with the practical facts — size, bed, view, rate — and only then move into atmosphere copy.
04
Development
Built as a static-first React app with route-level code splitting, responsive image sets and lazy loading below the fold, so the first screen arrives fast on hotel Wi-Fi and mobile data.
Structured data for the property, rooms and FAQs is generated from the same content the pages use, so the markup can never drift from the copy.
05
What we took from it
As a concept, Aster House gave us a reusable hospitality template: persistent booking, image-led room pages, and an SEO structure built for location and room-type searches.
This is self-initiated concept work. There is no client, and no booking, revenue or performance results are claimed.
