Most WordPress builds hand an editor forty blocks and hope for the best. Layouts drift within months and the site quietly stops looking designed.

This concept tests the opposite constraint: fewer blocks, stronger defaults, no way to make an ugly page.

We wrote the editing scenarios first — publish an essay, announce an issue, update a stockist list — and built only the blocks those scenarios need.

Each block ships with locked spacing and typography. Editors choose content and emphasis, never margins.

The design leans on print language: heavy display headings, a two-ink accent system, and rules instead of shadows.

Article pages carry a running header and a reading progress rail, both derived from the document outline rather than hand-authored.

Custom blocks are server-rendered, so the front end stays free of editor markup and remains fast without a caching plugin doing the heavy lifting.

Structured data, canonical handling, sitemaps and image sizing are part of the theme rather than delegated to a plugin stack.

The result is a repeatable approach to editorial WordPress: a small block library, print-informed layout and an admin that stays predictable.
